Avocado leaves are a popular ingredient in traditional medicine and have been used to treat a variety of ailments. One of the most common uses for avocado leaves is to lower cholesterol.

Avocado leaves are the next great remedy for high cholesterol, according to a study by Nigerian researchers.

The experiment was done on rats, which were given CCl4 to induce liver damage. The rats were then given an aqueous leaf extract of avocado (Persea americana) in their drinking water for three weeks. The results showed that the rats who were given the avocado extract had lower total cholesterol, triacylglycerols, protein, and hematological parameters than those who were not given it.

The researchers concluded that their findings suggest that this plant could be useful in treating hypercholesterolemia and liver disease caused by toxicity.

The results showed that there were significant reductions in both total cholesterol and triacylglycerols after avocado leaf extract was administered to rats for four weeks. The study also showed a significant increase in hemoglobin levels after avocado leaf extract was administered to rats for four weeks. The study concluded that avocado leaves could potentially be used as a natural supplement to help lower cholesterol levels.
