A delicious recipe sent in to us from Boston Tiki Party.
Here's a fresh tea-ki drink for ya! When I first tasted this tea from @avocadoleaftea, I immediately thought of a hot toddy. But since it's July (and insanely hot), I had to give it a summer twist. This cocktail is a hot toddy meets iced tea, but with some definite tiki vibes. It's fresh, light and makes you feel super cozy--plus you can drink one as a nightcap since it's decaf!
Avo -Teaki Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 2 oz bourbon
- 2 oz strong avocado leaf tea
- 1 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 oz fresh squeezed orange juice
- 0.5 oz honey syrup (1:1 honey water mix)
- 6-10 dashes Angostura bitters
Directions:
Shake everything but the bitters together with ice, then strain into a brandy snifter filled with crushed ice. Top with a layer of Angostura bitters and a bit more crushed ice, and garnish with a sprig of mint and a dried orange.
*Brew 4 oz of tea with one bag of the Natural Avocado Leaf Tea so it's nice and strong, then cool.
CHEERS!
Editor note: After @BostonTikiParty posted, we made this cocktail and WOW could be the best drink we have ever had. Just enough fruit juice to add a hint of sweetness and the bourbon paired great with the rustic avocado leaf tea. This is a must try, hard to drink just one!
