Trader Joe’s One-Stop Shop Guac
Recipe by Vin Bennett
Ingredients:
2 slices of bacon (crisp and crumbled)
3 medium-size ripe avocados
2 tablespoons red onion (thinly sliced and diced)
2 cloves garlic (microplaned/grated)
2 tablespoons Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel
2 tablespoons Trader Joe’s Yuzu Hot Sauce
2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
Directions:
Cook bacon slices. Dry on paper towel and crumble. Combine all ingredients and mash and stir until well incorporated. Adjust to taste!
Fry Mi Abuela corn and wheat tortillas (Trader Joe’s) to make chips and enjoy!
The recipe is pretty simple, but there are a few tricks that will make all the difference. Make sure to use crumbled bacon instead of sliced because crumbled bacon is easier to mix into the avocado. Also do not substitute white onion, the red onions have more flavor than white onions.
Trader Joe’s Chipotle Seasoning Blend gives the guacamole a nice smoky flavor and don't forget the lime juice, it makes ALL of the difference, giving it a noticeable "kick it up a notch".
The key to getting great guacamole is making sure that everything is properly seasoned before adding it to the avocado mixture. You want your ingredients to be flavorful enough so that they don't get overpowered by your other ingredients when everything comes together at the end.
